lake tahoe

We just got back from a VACATION and it was so nice. We've gone on a lot of trips since we've been married, but very few vacations. It was great to visit with my family and just relax all week at Lake Tahoe. We played in the sand, climbed on rocks, fished for crawdads, swam, kayaked, went boating, hot tubbing, played pinochle (my FAVORITE card game) and we saw the new batman movie. It was nice to relax and have so many adults around to "watch" and play with our kids. Here are some photos from the trip.

Ansel and Isabel were throwing rocks into the lake because it's so fun to do and this random dog came over and would try to catch them like it was a ball. It was kinda funny. The kids thought the dog was really silly, jumping and splashing around so much.

My parents have a lot of great sand toys so we made a sand castle. Isabel said it was the queens castle from the Wizard of Oz. It was fun for the kids to be able to get as dirty and they wanted and we could just hose them off. The kids had a lot of fun playing with their 8 month old cousin, Hunter. He just loved watching the things they did and he smiled and laughed at them all the time.

Ansel just loved swimming. he allowed us to put arm floaties on him and then he would get mad if we touched him. He wanted to swim all by himself all the time. He loved kicking/swimming around and blowing bubbles. He even didn't mind going under the water. He jumped in the side all by himself and Joseph would throw him up and just let him land in the water all by himself. Isabel is still a little afraid of these activities so we are still surprised how fearless Ansel is in the water. I wish we had a pool so Joseph could give him swim lessons. Isabel did some water treading for the first time, all by herself with no flotation device, so we are so proud of her. She is very proud of herself also. he he he.

The last picture is of Isabel "rock climbing." She did this for HOURS. She is very good on her feet and at finding safe spots to step and just loves doing it. It was fun to climb with her a little and then watch her/read a book. I need to start planning another family vacation because I cannot wait to go on one.

Yay for Lake Tahoe! Love the pics. Glad the kids didn't drown... They are Ashby's afterall. Hahaha.
I'm so glad you got to have vacation... Hey, Happy Anniversary (early). Hope you make some memories. :) I haven't been pregnant for an anniversary yet. Zeke was three months old, and so help me if I'm still pregs when this anniversary comes, somebody will pay!
Keep glowing! Love you
